Radiant Heat Systems
Comfortable radiant floor heating distributes even, quiet warmth. Whether your floors are wood, tile, or concrete slab – with or without carpeting – they are truly comfortable. An efficient radiant heat system can provide room-by-room temperature control. Energy usage can be reduced by up to 40%. Clean and efficient, radiant floor heating provides a healthier home environment by eliminating forced air systems that spread dust, pollen, and germs throughout your home. It’s invisible, too, giving you complete freedom when decorating or arranging furniture.

What is Radiant Heat?

Hold your hand over a hot cup of coffee and feel the heat. The typical conclusion is that heat rises. Not true! Hot air rises but heat can travel in any direction. That is why you can feel the heat of the cup when you place your hand on the side of it.

Radiant Heat systems warm rooms by circulating heated water usually at a very economical 110 degrees Fahrenheit through tough, flexible plastic tubing that's held in place just beneath the surfaces of the floors, walls and ceilings. The warmth from the water quickly spreads out from the tubing, raising the temperature of the surfaces it touches to an even 85 degrees, the same temperature as your bare skin.

Radiant Heat systems constantly monitor the temperature of the flowing water, automatically varying it by degree as the outdoor temperature falls or rises. You'll never notice whether the heating system is on or off. In fact, it will probably be the last thing on your mind. The only thing you'll notice is the comfort!

Conventional convection heating systems must be set at higher temperatures to achieve the same comfort level as radiant heat systems. The lower temperature required for a radiant heat system helps to maintain a natural humidity level, lower static electricity levels and nearly eliminate drafts. Just imagine, no more uneven temperatures, no hot blasts from vents, no scorching radiators or baseboards, and your lower fuel consumption is friendly to the environment and your budget!

Garden City Plumbing & Heating is the Radiant Heat expert in Western Montana. Radiant Heat allows unlimited design flexibility – for both new homes and older structures. Whether you are building a new home or retrofitting into your current home, Garden City Plumbing & Heating can integrate a radiant system with any fuel source – oil, natural gas or propane. We can even adapt a radiant heat system for snow-melting applications. Just think, no more shoveling the driveway or walkway to the house! And when we are in your home, we treat it with the same respect as if it were our own home. No hassles, no messes, just superior, meticulous craftsmanship.
